About Me

“Historically, I have an educational background in "person in situation" outlook. I'm a practicing psychotherapist. I believe in a collaboration process aimed at relieving emotional disturbances and suffering. I center on management and balance. Reduction or elimination of symptoms is a primary goal. Emphasis is placed on care of self leading to a contented life.

I have training in a cognitive behavioral approach. Basically, I look at how thoughts influence feelings, behavior. Also, beliefs about oneself and the world are part of the treatment process.Philosophically, I lean toward ancient and Eastern thought with practical application within Western culture.

Additionally, I'm a student of existentialism. Existential treatment involves concerns related to an individual's existence. The focus is the torment of choice and meaning in one's life. Ultimate concerns in existential treatment are death, freedom, isolation and meaninglessness.

Collaboration is a key ingredient in my treatment model. I view active participation as an important element.
